ALS Festival 2010

     In consonance with the celebration of literacy  month this October 2010, the Alternative Learning System will hold ALS Festival on October 26, 2010 at RELC, Pulungbulo, Angeles City.  The theme of this years celebration is ALS Festival:  Galing at Talino.

     ALS festival is conceptualized as an avenue in strengthening the implementation of Informal Education (INFED) Program.  This will bring out the best talents among ALS learners and best practices among ALS implementers.  It is timely response to recognize the exemplary performance and achievements in the implementation of ALS programs and projects.

     The objectives of ALS Festival are geared to the following:  recognize best talents and practices in the promotion of INFED Program, create opportunities for learners to fully develop their potentials either physically, mentally or attitudinally, foster the acquisition of basic life skills through various INFED activities, develop and promote respect, trust, and camaraderie among ALS implementers and learners, and intensify awareness on the benefit and importance of INFED towards self development.  The contestants to this ALS Festival are the 2010 ALS learners.  In addition to this, other INFED interest skills will be demonstrated and conducted.  . The contest are: Essay Writing, Jingle Song, Poster Making Contest with Slogan, Declamation, Mr. and Ms. ALS 2010.  INFED interest Skills are:   Fish Deboning assigned in the division of Balanga City/Bataan,   Sardines Making  Pampanga Division, Patties Making Bulacan division,  Flower Arrangement, Aurora/Tarlac City, Cogon Making and Floor Mat Making, Nueva Ecija division, Aerobics Olongapo City/Angeles City.  A minimum of 20 participants from each division are expected to attend the ALS Festival.

     The contest is open to 2010 ALS learners from Elementary and Secondary levels within Region III.  Contestants must be 11 years old and above for Elementary Level and 15 years old and above for Secondary Level on the day of the contest.  Every division is entitled to one entry for each contest.  Each contestant shall be accompanied by their coach during the competition.  Winners from the division level are the participants to the regional level competition.  From each contest,  three (3 participants will be adjudged winners 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.
