Obama's National Address Panned: Short On Details, Failed To 'Go Big'
Obama talks a good game, but intelligent people want substance, not just hot air.
In My Opinion it is clear that Mr. Obama does not "get it”. The speech was fine for another time and place - not for a crisis.
Those of you who are supporting the nonspecificness of this speech are failing to see the results of decades of inaction on this issue of energy independence.
The US and its allies have over the past 20 years laid waste to the middle east (70% of world oil) killing 100,000's of us "the people -God's children" wounding millions and displacing many millions - all for oil.
This is a life or death issue for our nation - possibly for YOU. We are killing people so as to live rich. And we voted for Obama to lead us out of our shame - that was the "Hope and change".
He waffled and in truth left us without a prayer - because killing for oil is theft and theft being evil brings forth, ever sooner, the death of our nation and the American rule of the western empire. The fall of which will mean the impoverishment and death of many of us in the US and around the world.
Read what happened to the Russian people's death rate and life expectancy after the, historically speaking, orderly fall of their much smaller empire. Without a concrete vision expressed by the President, an outline of specific legislation (i.e. so many solar panels, wind turbines, electrical infrastructure upgrades etc.) we will continue to dive like a soon-to-crash airplane.
