2020-4Q: [ACC] Refunding a Prepayment

A new feature has been added whereby a button has been added allowing the refund of a prepayment to be made.


Refund can be processed two ways in SIMPLer:

1) If no payment gateway is set - the refund will be in SIMPLer only as a correction on the customer account (fig.1a).

2) A payment gateway is set - the refund will be in SIMPLer AND funds will be transferred back to customer through the payment gateway API (fig.1b).

A few conditions will need to be met:

  • original transaction must have been made through the payment gateway. A button 'Refund via Authorize/ Go Cardless/ IPPay' will show

  • payment gateway need to support the refund option (in which case the button will appear)


To make use of this feature:


1. Go to the “Last 5 Prepayments” and click “E” on the prepayment you would like to refund

Wherever it is possible the "Refund via <PaymentGateway>" button will appear on the "Modify Prepayment" page.

It will act similarly to "Fail Prepayment" but it will also:

(1) refund money back via payment gateway API.

(2) It will appear as a refund
