Weekly Announcements

    Reminders/Special News:
    Hearts for Jesus Week: Our annual "Hearts for Jesus" week begins this week. As a school, we are rallying
    together to collect money to support the WELS Christian Aid and Relief for digging wells in Africa. We will have
    a penny war competition between our Cougar Pal teams to see which team is able to raise the most money for
    this project. Students are encouraged to bring in pennies for their own team's jar and other coins and dollars for
    other team's jars. Thank you for helping to support this project! If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Spirit Week: We will have Spirit Week NEXT week. As part of our celebration, we will have special dress up
    days. Here is a list of what the theme is for each day:

    Monday: Career Day
    Tuesday: Literary Character/ Superhero Day
    Wednesday: Retro/ Decades Day
    Thursday: Blue and White Day
    Friday: Cougar Pal Color Day

    Academics:
    Christ Light: Zacchaeus and Mary Show Her Love for Jesus

    Memory Work: We will have memory work due on Tuesday and Friday of this week. Please view the memory 
    treasure sheet, or you may go to our classroom website and download the memory treasure sheet there. We will
    practice the memory treasures at school, but please make sure you are also practicing them at home! Thank you! 

    Spelling: Students will receive new spelling words tomorrow. Besides the blind writing sort assignment on 
    Thursday, the class will not be required to complete the spelling activities at home this week. We will complete 
    them at school. 

    Math: Comparing numbers

    Reading: Compound words and contractions/ reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz 

    English/Writing: Learning about the use of "a" and "an"/ writing personal narratives based on small moments

    Science: We will answer the following question: Where Can We Find Water?

    Social Studies: Flat Stanley Project
