Weekly Announcements

  • 1/8-1/12

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and start to the New Year! It was nice to have a few weeks away from the hustle and bustle of school, but I am very much looking forward to seeing all my sweet students tomorrow morning. I have no doubt they will have lots to share with me, so I will definitely allow time in our schedule to catch up tomorrow!

I will send out another email tomorrow afternoon about 3rd quarter expectations and important updates.

What will we be learning this week?

Christ Light: In Christ Light this week, we will cover two stories: The Tabernacle and The Day of Atonement.

Memory Work: Please view the memory treasure schedule on the first grade classroom website to help your child have a great start on his or her memory treasures for this week.

Math: We will begin a new unit over length. Image result for ruler

Spelling: We will NOT follow the normal spelling schedule this week. We will take the same test we took at the beginning of the year to make sure each child is working with spelling words that are on his or her level.

English: The students will continue working on their first big writing assignment.

Reading: I will spend this week assessing each student over his or her knowledge of sight words and match him or her to the appropriate reading level.

Science: We will continue our new unit over Earth's resources.

Social Studies: We will take time this week to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. because Martin Luther King Jr. Day is next week!

    Evening blessings,
