Gina Furnari
Biography
GutenTag! Mein Name ist Frau Furnari and I teach German 1-5 at Avondale High School. I also sponsor the Delta Epsilon Phi Avondale Chapter of the National German Honor Society. Many of my previous students study, live, or work in Germany or work for a German company. My students are doing amazing things! One student is starting her Masters program in Munich, Germany this year! Recently, I led a student trip to Germany and France and had a wonderful time sharing my love of Europe! I have had the pleasure of working for the Avondale District for the past 17 years and excited for year 18! I even did my student teaching at Avondale! I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education from Wayne State University. During my time at Wayne State, I had the opportunity to study in Germany and be an exchange student on numerous occasions. That's when I fell in love with Bavaria and the city of Munich! I was very fortunate to receive a Fulbright Scholarship from the Fulbright Commission and the United States Government in 1993. I spent a year as a teacher of English at Franz-Joseph-Gymnasium in Germering, Germany (suburb of Munich) and attended language courses at the Ludwig Maximillians Universität (University of Munich). I have traveled to all of the German-speaking countries and still love everything about the German language, culture and people.
I look forward to teaching you everything I know! Bis bald!
