These videos show ePortfolio capabilities in the LMS candidate systems. Both Canvas and Desire2Learn offer embedded ePortfolios within the course management as part of base offering (no additional costs) but are including this free for Angel clients (at least for three years).  Blackboard offers ePortfolios with a separate solution and with add-on costs. Instructure Canvas

  • ePortfolio is included in the basic offereing of Canvas.
  • Includes wizards to help in developing portfolios.
  • Portfolios are private until released by the individual.
  • End-users can link and share from all assignments taken.
  • Portfolio can be made public or shared specfically. End-users can download their portfolio to their desktop.

Blackboard Learn

  • The Portfolio is an add-on cost to the base offering.
  • End-users collect information and assignments into their portfolio and can create multiple portfolios.
  • Demonstrates how to create the a content item for the portfolio as well as tools to create a web presence.
  • Does not demonstrate how assignments from courses are added to the portfolios.

  • The presenter loves music :-).
  • The Portfolio is included in the base offering of D2L.
  • Each class includes an ePortfolio link.
  • Students can upload artifacts and add reflections.
  • Artifacts can be organized into cateogories and presentations constructed to show the artifacts.
  • Sharing of the portfolio is accomplished through permission profiles created by the end-user.
  • Does not show how assignments from courses are moved into the portfolio.
