Printable version available at the bottom of the page

This Award is given by the Avila University faculty to acknowledge significant scholarly achievement represented by a single scholarly achievement or a body of scholarly work, either of which may have been completed over a period of time. Eligible scholarly achievements should be discipline-specific. Involving students is not to be a factor, nor is service to the discipline acceptable. Evaluation of applications must include support from peers in the discipline of the applicant, from inside or outside the institution.

The Avila Faculty Scholarship Committee will evaluate applications by nominated individuals, who must be full-, three-quarter-, or half-time members of the faculty with at least three (3) years of service at Avila. Only one award per year will be given. Persons receiving the award are eligible again after a period of five (5) years.

Nominations may be made by peers or supervisors. Self-nominations are acceptable. However, in either instance, the nominee must agree to complete the application form.

Award recipients will receive a plaque and will be asked to make a presentation based on their achievements at a campus venue to be determined by the Faculty Scholarship Committee.

Note: This nomination must be received by the Academic Affairs Office no later than the 2nd Monday in October. Please email this completed form as an attachment to Elise Hiatt at elise.hiatt@avila.edu, and write “Faculty Scholarship Committee application” in the subject line.
