  • A Twist on Kahoot!
Many teachers are using Kahoot! as a review tool prior to assessing students.  Students love this tool and are very engaged when using it.  How about using it FOR learning instead of after learning.  Here's an idea created by a New York teacher and shared by Matt Miller, called Blind Kahoot!.  Step by Step instructions, videos and diagrams can be accessed here.

You may have noticed a little Star at the bottom of your screen in the right corner. (Maybe you didn't....but you should now!)  It's a helpful little tool that can save you time when working in Slides, Sheets and Docs.  Read the blog by Matt Miller; Exploring 'Explore' about how Google Explore can help you! #Ditchthattextbook #MattMiller

Cool Stuff!

  • Fun with Artificial Intelligence
    * Google is trying out some new AI experiments.  One is called Quick, Draw!.  You begin drawing and Google AI will guess what you are drawing.  I think this could be used with vocabulary reivew.  How do you think you can use it in the classroom?  Here is a video about how it works.

    * AI Duet is another cool tool.  You play a few notes and then Google AI will paly a few notes and together you can create a song.  Check it out here.

    * Finally, isn't every teacher looking for a good timer?  And if you're like me you start looking for it when you need it...like RIGHT NOW!  You can simply type "Set a timer for 2 minutes" into your Google search bar and Google will start a timer immediately.  You can also find a stop watch here.

Web 2.0 Tools

  • Create an Image Presentation FAST
DriveSlides extension is an AWESOME extension, created by Matt Miller and Alice Keeler, that allows a user to create a slide show using images saved in a Google Drive folder.  Here's how it works:  Collect images into a Drive folder then go to the folder and run the extension to place one image on each slide automatically.  It's magical!!  Get the extension from the Google Chrome store.
