Add Interpreter to Blackboard

 

Adding an Interpreter, as a student, to your Black Board Classroom

is easy and helps interpreters to have access to the same information that you give your students. It allows interpreters to preview classroom material and prep for the class.

 

 

Adding an interpreter, as a student, to your Black Board Classroom

does not violate FERPA.

 

 

HOW TO ADD AN INTERPRETER

 

·         Logon to Blackboard

·         Select the proper course

·         Under Course Management -> select Users and Groups

o   Click on "Users"

·         Click on "find users to enroll"

·         Click Browse

o   Enter username, last name, first name OR email address (make sure to select the appropriate search button on the left for username, last name, first name OR email to specify what type of search you would like to execute)

o   Find the correct person then click in the square box next to it.

·         Scroll to the bottom and click SUBMIT

·         On the bottom right click SUBMIT

·         This will add the interpreter as a student, which is where they need to be added so they can access all announcements regarding class time.

 

HOW TO HIDE AN INTERPRETER’s NAME IN THE GRADE CENTER

 

·         Logon to Blackboard

·         Select the proper course

·         Under Course Management ->

o   select Grade Center

o   select Full Grade Center

·         Under the Manage drop down menu -> select Row Visibility

·         Find the correct person then click in the square box next to their name

·         Click the “Hide Rows” button

·         Click the submit button at the bottom right.
