What degree and certificates in GIS does ACC offer?
ACC offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in GIS Degree, a GIS Level I Certificate, and a GIS Level II Certificate.

How do the GIS degree and certificates vary ?
Which degree or certificate is right for you depends on your educational background and your career goals.

The GIS AAS Degree is a 2-year workforce degree designed designed for:
  • New students seeking skills they need for an entry-level GIS job; or
  • Wanting to transfer 30% of their course credit to a 4-year public college or university in Texas
The GIS Level I Certificate is a 1-year workforce certificate designed for:
  • New students seeking skills they need for an entry-level GIS Technician job; or
  • Existing GIS professionals seeking to update or expand their skills
The GIS Level II Certificate is a 2-year workforce certificate designed for:
  • New students seeking skills they need for an entry-level GIS Technician job; or
  • Existing GIS professionals seeking to update or expand their skills
