Internship Requirements

Some APT students will want an internship to assist them in making a career change; if you’re one of them, this article is for you. If you’re planning on staying in your present position or interning at your job, you should consider the details below as guidelines.
Below, you’ll find the minimum course requirements for each of the five APT certificates. An internship can be a great bridge to a permanent position, but only if you’re prepared for the work and can do it successfully.
The Marketable Skills Award is also laid out below and is often required in conjunction with course requirements for internship eligibility.
We’ve reviewed these course requirements and we’ve asked for input from the Industry Partners regarding their level of expectation for skills. Certainly you want to do as well in the internship as you can, and it’s clearly in the best interest of the employer to hire and pay interns for some period of time. But while you’re evaluating the employer, you can be sure that the employer is evaluating you!
