Frequently Asked Questions:

I can't get into the Parent Portal now.  The login on the letter is invalid.

A letter mailed to each household of current Alhambra USD students back in March contained information to be used in part with the creation of a Parent Portal Single-Sign On account.

This letter contains your child's name, an access ID and access password.

You will begin to create a Parent Account by clicking on the 'Create Account' followed by pressing the 'Create Account' button.

In creating a Parent Portal SSO account:
  • As a parent, enter your first name, last name, email address, desired username, and password in those respective text boxes.
  • Enter your child's name where it asks for the student's name, access ID and access password to connect a student to a newly created parent account.

The Parent Portal is changing?  So what's going to happen?

On March 25, 2016, the way parent accounts log into the parent portal will change.  Parents will be asked to create a new parent single sign-on account and from that account link their children into that account using a combination of that child's name, an access ID and access password.

Until this date, the way parent connect to the Parent Portal will remain the same.

Regardless, students and their accounts will not be impacted by this change with how parents will connect to the system.

I am a parent and have logged into Parent Portal after March 25th.  But now, I forgot my username.  What do I do?

Click on a the link where it says 'Forgot Username or Password?'.

You will be directed to the 'Recover Account Sign In Information' page.  Click on the Forgot Username tab and type in the email address you registered your parent account with.

Note: If you do not know nor remember what email address you used to register your parent portal account with, then you will need to contact the school site of your child to resolve this issue.

An email will be sent with a link in the body of that email.

The first sentence of the email provides the username, while clicking on the link will redirect you to the Parent Portal site once again.

On the '
Recover Password' page, provide the same username created for the parent account and a new password.

After entering in your username and new password successfully, you will then see the Start Page.

I put in my username and password and click submit. After clicking submit, the page reloads to a blank username and password line and does not login. Help?

I'm having trouble logging in.  Once I put all the information in I get a message saying “You are unable to access your account at this time. Please contact your school directly for assistance.”?

A parent must have a minimum of one pre-registered or enrolled student in order to sign in with his or her parent account.

Where can I find my child(s) access information?

  • For high school students, the access ID and access password has be provided to new and returning high school students back in July through US mail.
  • For students at the elementary school sites, this information was printed on the trimester 3 report card.

Is it mandatory that I register?

Online registration is required as the Parent Portal is used to collect Emergency Contact Information.

Starting in the 2012-13 school year, the Alhambra Unified School District began to collect emergency information on all students through this portal.

Regardless of when the single sign-on is implemented, emergency contact information will still be collected for the rest of the 2015-16 school year through the Parent Portal.  The system will be available, in particular, to parents who have yet to complete it for this school year.

What information is required to create a parent account?

The first section on the page, “Create Parent Account,” is the information necessary to establish the parent’s account.

All fields in this section are required, and include the following:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email (must be unique)

  • Desired User Name (must be unique)

  • Password

  • Re-enter Password

The second section on the page, “Link Students to Account,” requires that the information for at least one student be provided, and includes the following:

  • Student Name

  • Access ID (previously labeled Guardian Web ID)

  • Access Password (previously labeled Guardian Web Password)

  • Relationship

Can I use the same email for two different accounts on the new Parent Portal??

No, the email account that 'owns' an account on the new Parent Portal can only be associated with that one account, not a second. With that one account, you can link to multiple students, as long as you have each student's access id and password.

What should I select for 'Relationship'?

In the dropdown list for 'Relationship' for each child, the person creating the new account should specify the nature of his/her relationship to the child. The information is only used to identify you and the student to the school. It is not part of the student's official records.

I have two children who attend two different schools in the district, will I be able to use the Parent Portal for both of them?

Yes, you will be able to view your child's information through this single sign-on account.
