I strive to provide students an opportunity to learn, not only about the content defined by the course, but also about their own personal likes and dislikes; aesthetics. I hope that each student who leaves my classroom develops a deeper understanding of themselves and takes steps to improve themselves as they mature into responsible citizens.
I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Art Education from the University of Kansas in 2001 and a Master of Science in School Counseling in 2011 from the University of Phoenix, Colorado Campus. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, skiing, traveling, cooking and playing with my Bernese Mountain Dog, Finn.
"My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day...
I do my job by creating a safe and inviting space for students to explore their talents, develop skills, take artistic risks and transfer their knowledge to art work. I encourage students to see the value in learning and I do this by incorporating cross curricular concepts: Literacy, Math, History, and Science, into our learning every day.
My community needs me to do my job."
