Meet your Public Health Professors this Semester (First Semester 2017-2018).

Mary Jane Botabara-Yap, RN, DrPH

                Is the Chair of Public Health Department. She has 20 years of accumulative experience as a Clinical Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Preventive Health Educator, and College Lecturer both in the Philippines and in Malaysia.  She is skilled in the area of Preventive Health and in Community Health Interventions; she has served as a Mission Health Director for the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Malaysia. 

Miriam R. Estrada, RND, DrPH

                Is the Dean of College of Health. She is a Registered Dietician with many years of experience as an Educator. She has published many articles in magazines and journal research publications, specifically in the area of Nutrition and health. She will be teaching Public Health Nutrition and health Education Programs this semester.

Jacob Ko, RMT, DrPH

                Is currently the head of the Health Promotion Department at Taiwan Adventist College. He has more than 20 years of experience as Medical Technician, High School Vice Principal, College Educator, Dean of Student’s Affairs and as Health Promotion Educator.  Dr. Ko is an Adjunct Professor of AUP Public Health Department.

Jacqueline G. Polancos, RN, DrPH

                Is a Registered Nurse with varied experience in the clinical, management and education setting. She has recently completed her Doctorate degree in Public Health major in Preventive Health Care. She will be teaching Public Health Administration with Community Development in the DrPH program.

Edward Nathan, MD, DrPH

                Dr. Nathan is a Medical Doctor by profession who completed his MPH and DrPH degree from Loma Linda University. He is currently the Lifestyle and Wellness Director of Penang Adventist Hospital in Malaysia. His love for health promotion and education is apparent in his work, being expert in clinical, workplace wellness and smoking cessation programs. Dr. Nathan is an Adjunct Professor of AUP Public Health Department.

Weanne Myrrh R. Estrada, RN, MPH

                Ms. Estrada has recently joined the Public Health faculty, having recently completed her Master in Public Health study at Loma Linda University in the US. Having had her internship at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland has helped her evolved as Public Health Educator. Ms Estrada is teaching the undergrad subjects of Public Health as well as team-teaching in some MPH courses.
