Augustana College Science Scholars Program

THE 2015-2016 ACADEMIC YEAR WAS THE LAST YEAR FOR MATRICULATION INTO THE ACSS PROGRAM.  THE ACSS PROGRAM IS NO LONGER OFFERING NEW SCHOLARSHIPS.  However, current students can still apply for funding to support research and travel to conferences through the IINSPIRE-at-Augustana program.

The ACSS Program combines special academic and extra-curricular programming, scholarships and other financial incentives to support the success of ACS Scholars.
The program includes:
  • Augustana College scholarship (up to $10,000 per year, renewed annually)
  • Special academic and extra-curricular programming
  • Entering-year and senior-year research experiences
  • Career-building programming (e.g., internships, résumé workshops, career mentoring)
  • Participation in the student-run ACSS Club
  • Centralized advising program
  • Assistance with applications for graduate programs and/or employment
  • Additional academic support services, if needed

While applicants planning to major in the fields of biology and/or biochemistry and/or applicants from groups underrepresented in the sciences are especially encouraged to apply, students planning to major in one of the sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, geology, etc.) and/or math are eligible to apply if certain program requirements are met (See ACSS Scholarship Information).
