What the Wolfs are "Doing"...
  • Den Meeting 3/4 - Orlando Fire Museum
This week we had a fun and informative meeting as we explored the Orlando Fire Museum with Retired Chiefs Tuten and Burns.  If you were not able to attend the meeting, then I would encourage a visit in the near future.  The Boys had a Blast!

Thank you To both Cheif Tuten and Chief Burns for their time and efforts in helping to preserve and share the rich history of the department.  The Museum is located at 814 East Rollins Street, Loch Haven Park, behind the Orlando Science Center.

What to See and Learn on a visit to the Orlando Fire Museum:

See the 1926 Fire Station #3 that was relocated to this secluded location behind the Orlando Shakespeare Festival in Loch Haven Park. Here fire buffs can enthuse over meticulously restored fire engines, including a 1911 horse-drawn steam pumper, a 1915 LaFrance Fire Engine, and a 1919 LaFrance Ladder Truck. Photos and documents arranged chronologically around the walls document the department’s proud history. Upstairs, in a room used for fire department training, are displays of fire fighters’ gear, from dress uniforms to bomb suits, and a memorial to those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the community.

  • Pinewood Derby 2015
    Pack 63 Grand Champion
Congratulations to all of our 2015 Pinewood Derby participants, and thank you to all of the volunteers that made it so successful!  We had a great turnout and the boys had a blast.  All of the dens put forward very fun and fast cars this year, but the fastest car of the Pack came out of the Wolf Den.  That car belonged to Sam Welch.  Congratulations Sam, this year’s Pinewood Derby “Grand Champion”!

  • Den Meeting 02/04
Tonight's meeting will center around Achievement 2 on the Wolf Trail.  We will be learning about the care and folding of the flag, as well as planning and participating in an outdoor flag ceremony.

For those scouts that arrive a little early tonight, Cubmaster Rich will be leading a gathering activity from the wolf arrow point trail.  During this time, the boys will learn how to tie a necktie (17f).

  • 10/1 Den Meeting
As we continue down the Wolf Trail, we will be working on parts of Achievement #9 (Be Safe at Home and on the Street).  We will talk a little bit about bike safety and then work on making a license plate for a bike.  This should be a fun activity where the scouts will emboss and customize their own license plate from a small sheet of aluminum.

For those of you attending the Bobcat Badge Class with Cubmaster Rich, please stop by the Den before you leave, so I can distribute supplies for those scouts to do the activity at home.  We look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday!

  • 9/10 Den Meeting Moved to Fern Creek Elementary
This Wednesday (9/10), we will be conducting our Wolf Den meeting at Fern Creek Elementary to coincide with the Roundup that will be occurring that night.

This will be a normal meeting, during normal meeting times (6:30-7:30).  The only differences are the location and we may have some potential new scouts joining us during our activity.

This is a  great opportunity to help with recruiting.  A strong showing of cub scouts (in uniform) sharing the den experience, will allow others to see how much fum Cub Scouts can be.

Fern Creek Elementary is located at:

1121 N Fern Creek Ave, Orlando, FL 32803

  • Off to a Great Start!
It's great to be doing den meetings again!  I think we all had a lot of fun at our first meeting back. The den flag is looking awesome, and Jayne is going to do her best to get it all sewn up by our next den meeting on Wednesday, 9/10.

For those of you that could not make it, we went over the new Scout Law and Oath that we will be learning this year, and also decorated hand cut-outs that will adorn our new Den Flag.  I will bring supplies to make hand prints with me to the next meeting, for those that were unable to attend.  We want all of our Wolves represented.

  • 1st Den Meeting of the Year Starts 09/03
    Hello all!

I hope you and your families have had a great summer. As sorry as some of us are to see summer go, I'm sure everyone is as excited about our upcoming year of scouting.

Regular den meetings start back up Wednesday Night, 09/3 at 6:30 PM.

This week we will be getting reacquainted, reviewing the New Scout Oath and Law and Creating our Den Flag that we will bring with us to future Pack events.  It should be a fun kick-off to the year.

Another thing that I am excited about is that Joel Thomson (Ewan's dad) will be the Wolf Den's Co-Leader with me this year.  He is going to bring a lot to the table and make sure to keep me in line.

I look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday, 09/03.
