Pack 63 Scouts took park in the annual Scouting for Food program in conjunction with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Last year scouts throughout Central Florida helped collect over 96,000 pounds for our neighbors in need.
You can find out more about the program & wonderful things Second Harvest does within our community each year on their website: www.secondharvestfoodbank.org

Scouts bowled, played video games & generally let loose at Colonial Lanes. The exticement that followed each stike was spare was super cool. The night ended with one of our Wolf scouts having the highest score (beating all the adults as well)!

Special thanks to the Apopka Scout Shop for conducting a whittling chip instructional session that enabled Pack 63 Bear Scouts to earn their whittling chip badge & certification card. An arrowhead, bear, mountain & volcano were what our scouts attempted to create while earning the ability to carry a pocket knife as a scout.

In addition to our standard Announcements & Awards session, Pack 63 managed to squeeze in an impromptu International Space Station sighting and held mummy races in honor of our upcoming Cub Halloween campout at Camp La Noche. Good times all around. :)

Originally planned as a Mead Gardens campout, 2017's Fort Gatlin District Cub-O-Ree was changed to a 1-day event due to the impact of Hurricane Irma. Scouts participated in archery, hit targets with sling shots & practiced their aim with bb guns.
