Tarek H. Selim, PhD is Chair and Professor, Department of Economics, School of Business, at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
Dr. Selim has more than twenty years of academic and professional experience within the field of industrial economics and strategy.
Dr. Selim's areas of specialization include microeconomics, managerial economics, industry studies and competition, business strategy and game theory, and project evaluation.
Dr. Selim is an affiliate to the Microeconomics of Competitiveness Network at Harvard Business School. He is a founding member of the Alfred P. Sloan Industry Studies Association at the University of Pittsburg. He is a research fellow of the Economic Research Forum in the Middle East, board member of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies, and has been senior economic advisor to the Egyptian Competition Authority.
