Welcome! We are going to have a great year!!

Homework is an extension of your learning. This is to give you time to practice parts of the targets and come prepared to participate in your learning in the next class.
You receive a Habits of Work Grade as part of your grade- being on time matters!
Due dates are in powerschool and on Google classroom. They are also written on the board. Assignments are expected to be done on time. Emergencies happen... please communicate with me.
Come ready to work!
Absent? If you are absent, you will be expected to conference with your teachers about what you missed. You are responsible for your learning!! You should also checkout the agenda that is posted daily on google classroom. Work is expected to be made up in a timely manner in order to stay on track with your learning. Work will be clearly posted! Check your email and be present in class.

SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) in Mrs. Callahan's class
Starting class: After you have entered the classroom, find your assigned seat. Please have your materials. Please remove other non-academic items from your desk while we are in class. Check out the agenda for the day. Start on the bell ringer activity and/or first thing on the agenda.
Tardies: You need a pass to enter the class late. The pass should come from the last teacher you visited. Tardies will be recorded by the office
Passes: Students may use the restroom and get a drink with permission and a digital pass.. Students should try not to ask during instructional time. Use good judgment and only ask to go at an appropriate time. You have to sign out and back in when you return.
Food and drinks: Only water for drinks please. Drinks should have a solid cover. Water bottles are encouraged. Snacks will be allowed during a designated time on the team. Take care of any trash.
Cell phones: These devices should be off and out of site from 7:15- 2:00. You need permission to use your phone. Phones need to be stored in your locker. See handbook for details
Turning in work: You should turn in work to the basket indicated. Please do not hand it to me or place it anywhere other than in that basket. Work not submitted to the indicated location will not be graded. Sometimes work will be submitted electronically on google classroom. Have your name in the title. You always should have your name, block and date on your work. Please use first and last name.
Returning graded work: Graded work will be placed in your block's bin and kept in the front of the classroom. You need to get the work out of the bin on your own time. If you have questions about your work, you should talk with me. I encourage you to discuss your progress!! Grades will be posted on Powerschool. Late work will be graded last.
Instructional time: I expect you to use good judgment when you need to talk with someone in class. Always whisper, do not yell across the classroom, and do not interrupt the teacher or anyone else who is speaking to the class. Please remember we are a learning community!!
Taking care of the classroom: I need your assistance to make sure that the classroom is kept neat and orderly for the next class entering. Please be respectful of this space. At the end of class, please throw away any trash you find around your desk (yours or not) and return all desks and materials to their original location. Please make sure that you do not leave any personal belongings in the classroom.
Ending class: Please wait until the bell. Homework will be posted to Google Classroom.
Homework: Always try your best to complete the assignment. Ask for help if you need it. Pass it in on time! As mentioned, homework will always be posted in the room and Google classroom. I give lots of class time for work. Work outside of class will not always be needed if you use class time wisely.
IPADS: Yours should come to class charged. If not taking it to lunch, charge it in the classroom over your lunch period. The iPads are not for games. When done your work, your choices are to read, draw or work ahead!
