History of MLTI in Auburn School Department
We are proud to be one of the first school districts in the nation to pilot one-to-one Apple devices in public education. In 2001, the Auburn School Department was given the opportunity to be a part of Governor Angus King's Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) and leverage our students towards 21st century learning.  All 7th graders at Auburn Middle School were given G3 Ibooks as the initiative launched. The following year, another group of 7th graders also received a device, making two grade levels equipped with Apple tools. Ibooks were refreshed in 2006, and in 2009 Macbooks were introduced at both the middle and high school. Currently, Macbook Airs are used in all 7-12 grades. Outside of MTLI, our former district Superintendent, Tom Morrill introduced Ipads into all K-3 grades.

We are proud to give our teachers and students devices that increase engagement in learning and a tool to be used towards proficiency based standards. Our team goal is to provide resources,  support, and professional development to our teachers so that they are able to customize student learning and assist in their achievement of learning targets. Our individual roles are listed in our district team page.
