Nursing Passports

The Health requirements that allow you to participate in clinical are much more extensive than regular college entry requirements, and sometimes take six months or more to complete. It is wise to begin as soon as possible and stay on schedule with the requirements. You will be able to receive a temporary passport allowing you to begin clinical in some cases, i.e., if an immunization series has begun, but the next shot is not indicated yet, or if you have a medical exemption. All other requirements must be met before participating in clinical. A permanent passport that lasts until July of each year will be issued upon completion of all the requirements.

Passport compliance will be implimented by the College Nurse, and will be enforced by the Nursing Department instructors and administration. It is best to schedule an appointment with the College Nurse to provide all necessary documentation
of requirements and discuss deficiencies. Also, make copies of documentation to keep for your own records; you will need these again for future employment. The Health Form to use is included at the bottom of this page as an attachment, and will also be distributed by the Nursing Department.

The College Health Office is located at E-106, next to the gym, or Thursday AM in room 231 at Worthington Atlantic City Campus.  Cape May Campus office hours beginning Fall, 2012 are every other Tuesday from approx. 10:30-1:30.
