NHS

Description:

This is the website for the AHS chapter of the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Membership in NHS is open to second semester sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of a 3.8 and submit an application for consideration. Applications are evaluated based on the core values of NHS- scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Once admitted into NHS students must attend ALL meetings, complete 32 hours of community service over the summer (June, July, & August), 8 hours a month, complete 2 group community service projects (1 per semester), pay club dues one time a year, and maintain their GPA.

NHS meets in H-4 on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursday of each month at lunch.
