A little about me: I am a San Luis Obispo County native who has lived in Atascadero for the past 21 years. I teach English to both sophomores and juniors at Atascadero High School, as well as serve as the faculty advisor to the school newspaper, Hilltop News. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in English and a single-subject teaching credential, and performed post-graduate studies at University of California at Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, and Brandman University. I have been teaching at Atascadero High School for the past 17 years, which means that I have taught over three thousand young people in our community. I consider those experiences to be a privilege and a blessing. I have also worked as a technical writer and newspaper reporter/photographer and have a ROP Credential in Journalism Production. I have two grown sons who graduated from Atascadero High. I look forward to helping my students discover their greatest potential and gain the skills and confidence they need to not only be successful once they graduate, but to also know themselves better and make choices that result in joyful, fulfilling lives.
