Who is my academic advisor in the Office of Student Services?
Each graduate student in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College is assigned an academic advisor in the Office of Student Services. Your academic advisor works with you from admission through graduation. The role of your academic advisor is to provide resources to help you achieve academic success including information on: registration, drops & withdrawals, academic policies, tutoring, plan of study (iPOS), and graduation.

Melissa Rudd
Associate Director, Graduate Student Services

Melissa works with the executive director, administration, and staff to help coordinate and manage graduate advising services in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Melissa attended Northern Arizona University for her undergraduate degree and Walden University for her graduate degree. Melissa is passionate about student success, and has a great respect for teachers and the hard work they do in order to educate our youth.

Laura Abril
Supervisor, Online Graduate Services

Laura supervises and works with leadership to support student success with the online advising team. She earned her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University and her graduate degree with Northern Arizona University. Laura respects and values diversity and is committed to students realizing and achieving their full potential as educators.

Stacey Till
Academic Success Coordinator

Stacey advises online students in the EdD Leadership and Innovation program as well as students in two certificate programs: Advanced Analytics in Higher Education and English as a Second Language. Stacey earned a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and a MSEd in Counseling from Western Illinois University. She has been working with graduate students for almost 20 years in both admissions and student services roles at universities in Iowa, Arizona, Missouri and Texas. Stacey is thrilled to be part of the ASU family and is looking forward to developing great relationships with her students and being an advocate for their success.

Megan Gamarra
Graduate Academic Success Coordinator

Megan is currently the advisor for the TEAMS, Physical Education, Educational Policy, and Learning Sciences Master’s degree programs as well as the Institutional research and Policy Analysis Graduate Certificate. She earned her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Arizona and her Masters of Education, Higher and Postsecondary Education, from Arizona State University. Megan is dedicated to promoting education and fine arts in Arizona, and believes that all children deserve a great teacher.

Sue Anderson

Sue provides admission support for all online graduate programs and works closely with online enrollment coaches to assist students in completing their application and through the entire admissions process.

Kathy O'Malley

Kathy provides admission support for in-person graduate programs by assisting students with the admissions process. Kathy is an Arizona native and received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from ASU. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys vegetable gardening, cooking, photography, and traveling around Arizona.

Jodi Banzhaf

Jodi advises online students in the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorders programs as well as the Autism Spectrum Disorders graduate certificate program. Jodi comes to ASU from a small college in Northwest Nebraska, Chadron State, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism and then began a ten-year journey there in various roles of advising and assisting both online and on-campus students. Helping students work through decisions, systems, and processes in order to reach individual goals with the greatest success has always been her favorite part of that process.

Dayna Bartoli

Dayna advises online students in the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction Applied Behavior Analysis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Gifted Education programs as well as the Applied Behavior Analysis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Gifted Education graduate certificate programs. She earned her BFA at Arizona State University and her MFA at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She previously served as admissions advisor for international students at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art where she discovered her passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. She is proud to continue on in academic advising at her Alma Mater and as part of the team at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.

Robin Boyle

Robin advises for the MAC Special Education program, M.Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education, M.A. in Literacy Education programs and the face to face M.Ed. in Educational Technology and the Educational Technology Graduate Certificates.  Robin is an ASU alumni and a graduate of the M.Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education program. A previous kindergarten teacher, Robin advocates providing knowledge and resources to students to encourage their continuous learning.

Tara Burke

Tara advises students in our two PhD programs: Educational Policy and Evaluation, and Learning, Literacies, and Technologies. Tara works closely with the faculty and administration of the Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation to ensure that the best and brightest PhD students find a home here at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Tara is a graduate of ASU’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and subsequently enjoyed a decade-long career in brand management and marketing communications. Ultimately determining to follow her passion for higher education, Tara recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with an M. Ed. in Student Affairs Counseling and is thrilled to be a member of the advising team here at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.

Paula Friesen

Paula advises online graduate students in the MA Curriculum and Instruction (English as a Second Language) and MA Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis) degree programs as well as those pursuing their graduate certificate in ESL and Applied Behavior Analysis. She earned her BS in Math from Biola University. Prior to joining the Teachers College, Paula was an academic and international student advisor for Thunderbird School of Global Management. She has been working with graduate students for more than 10 years and thoroughly enjoys guiding them through their programs from admissions to graduation.

Rich advises students in Teachers College online masters and graduate certificate programs.  Rich comes from Milwaukee, WI.  He obtained his undergraduate degree in Communication from Grand Valley State University and his MS in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin.  Rich has served in various student services roles for over 15 years and is passionate about helping students succeed and make the most of the educational experience.

Brian advises online graduate students in the Early Childhood programs and the Educational Technology program. Brian completed both his undergraduate and Master's degrees at Arizona State University, earning a B.A. in English and M.Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education. Brian has a passion to work with students and build stronger diverse communities that foster youth education.

Dawn Koths

Dawn advises online students in Teachers College online masters and graduate certificate programs. She has been working at Arizona State University for over 10 years, 8 of those in academic advising, and is also an ASU alumna. She previously advised for the Master’s with Arizona Certification Elementary Education and Induction, Master’s with Arizona Certification face-to-face teacher certification programs. She is excited to make the transition over to advising for the online graduate programs. Dawn enjoys supporting her students and providing the necessary resources to help them navigate through their programs successfully.

Jennifer Manqueros

Jennifer advises online students in MLFTC masters and graduate certificate programs. She earned both her BA in Psychology and her MA in Education, Counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Jennifer has served in various student services roles for over 7 years in success coaching, mentoring, advising and instruction. She is fully committed and passionate to advocate for students in their college careers as she believes every student, if given proper guidance, can become great leaders in their future endeavors. Jennifer enjoys building relationships with her students and being a supporter of their success.

Christopher Morris
Academic Success Specialist

Christopher advises several programs at the doctoral, masters, and graduate certificate level. He completed an M.A. in Communication Studies at ASU before joining the Teachers College Graduate Student Services team in 2012. With more than ten years of experience in student services, he is committed to making the advising process transparent and adaptive to students’ needs.  



Tiffany Williams
Academic Success Specialist

Tiffany advises for the MAC Elementary and Secondary programs for the Tempe, West, and Polytechnic campuses.  She is also the academic advisor for the InMAC program at the Downtown campus.  Tiffany is passionate about student success and progression towards degree completion as is reflected in her research with a retention program.
