The Avenue of the Dead at Teotihuacan
Updated 9 July 2013
I am a semi-retired archaeologist in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change (formerly Anthropology) at Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. I am interested in archaeological theory about ancient civilizations world-wide, but most of my field work has been in Central Mexico, especially at the great pre-Aztec city of Teotihuacan, near Mexico City ca. 100 BCE to ca. 650 CE. I have also worked in the Maya lowlands of Guatemala, some 700 miles to the east. I am also interested in quantitative methods in archaeology and in modern and ancient population issues.
These are pdfs of selected publications that I consider still of interest in 2011, with an emphasis on those that may be hard to get otherwise. I generally add a few comments about the article. Reader comments are welcome.
