Kris Roley - Special Education

Hi!  My name is Kris Roley, and I have been teaching special education in Ashby for the past 15 years.  Our family lives in rural Ashby, and I grew up here, so Ashby holds a special place in my heart.  The school in this community is top notch and after teaching fifth grade for 10 years in Maple Lake, MN, we chose to take a leap of faith and move our young family back here to give our children the closeness to extended family and to experience all that a small town like Ashby has to offer.  We have never looked back!  My husband, Chris, and I have three children, two which have already graduated from AHS and our youngest is in junior high.  As a family we enjoy camping trips, taking trips to warm and sunny places, and attending Arrow activities.

I teach special education students in grades K-6.  Special education students are students who have a disability that affects their ability to learn and achieve success in the general education classroom without the assistance of special education services.  I teach students one on one or in small group situations and also go into classrooms to
assist students during their classroom instruction and work time.

I thoroughly enjoy every part of my job!  It is so exciting to watch kids learn and grow and have the unique privilege to work with these students through their elementary years.  It is truly rewarding to see a light bulb turn on in a child's mind that has never been there before!
