Live Curious and Go Beyond Skype

I have been using Skype in the classroom to communicate with people and students around the world. This has helped my students develop a global way of thinking and acknowledge cross cultural similarities and differences. I have noticed that our Skype sessions are definitely something they enjoy. We have Skyped with students, community helpers, explorers and famous authors. Looking forward for our next Skype sessions!

TLC Tech Tuesday

posted Apr 20, 2016, 5:25 AM by Paula Segovia

Last week, we had a TLC Tech Tuesday, which is a preschool and elementary meeting where our main focus was technology. Our main idea for this meeting was for every team to make a reflection of the whole year regarding main problems with technology and how to overcome it by creating an image or video representing it using a digital tool. The tool I chose for my team was Glogster. I chose this tool since it was new for me and I wanted to try something different. The affordances for this tool is that it was really easy to use for first timers, you can add photos and video very easy and text as well. Some of the constraints were that it could only be edited by 1 person at the time, so this made it more difficult to move fast since we had to submit the link at a certain time. One other constraint was that during the presentation, our image looked really small using the link the app gave us.
