    1.  The Rio Grande River, located in the Southwest, flows through which 3 states?
    2. Lake Okeechobee, located in the Southeast, is in which state?
    3. What is the capital of Illinois?
    4. Goose Lake, located in the Northwest area of the continental United States, is in which 2 states?
    5. Good Thing/ Smile Moment

    Correct the warm-up, turn in the warm-up for this week, week 9, October 16-20
    Finish working on the assignment, Read text pages from the PPC textbook, pgs 81-85 and complete the
        study guide.

    Begin working on the mapping project, taking your time, using a pencil and outlining very lightly, draw the physical
        features (listed on the directions) on the map. ( THIS IS AN IN CLASS PROJECT - MAPS ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN HOME)

    1.   Explain how life was difficult for the First Settlers (write 2-3 sentences)
    2.  Describe how the Aleuts and Tlingits were treated by Russian Explorers (write 2-3 sentences)
    3.  What were the main types of transportation before World War ?
    4.  Describe the hardships endured by the miners coming to Alaska during the Gold Rush (write 2-3 sentences)
Classwork
     Students were asked to identify the 50 states in the United States from a map
     Students were asked to list the 50 states in the United States
     Class Discussion on Lock-Downs and procedures in the event of an active shooter in the building or in the event of some other
            event and where to go for an alternative location in the event of an earthquake or other catastrophe.

    Review the 50 states in the United States - QUIZ NEXT WEDNESDAY
