- Reading: Read a book (or 3). Read to a younger sibling (it keeps them busy and may help your parents.) Tumblebooks also has a lower level graphic novels area if you want to revisit those

- Audible has started Audible Stories, a free database of stories read aloud for a variety of ages, including teens https://stories.audible.com/discovery
- Try your hand at cooking and baking - lots of places are doing online cooking classes now! Be sure to have parent permission! Check out the Isolation Baking Show at 11AM PST (10AM in Alaska)
- Science:
- Participate in the LEGO 30 Day Challenge! Send us some pictures of your favorite builds.
- AMAZING explorations in flight - all sorts of activities, videos, and more about flight. History of flight, paper airplane designs, rocket labs, experiments, etc. through the National Air and Space Museum.
- Solve the Super Scientists puzzle Mrs. Card emailed to parents
- Brush off your coding skills from last year (if you attended GMS for 7th grade) or learn a new skill and visit www.code.org
- Polar Bears on the Tundra Virtual Field Trip
- Innovating the Future Virtual Field Trip - explore aerospace technology with Boeing and Discovery Education
- Explore the Surface of Mars with the Curiosity Rover
- Tour National Parks - 3-D tours of five gorgeous national parks, including our very own Kenai Fjords park. Be sure to keep the sound on!
- Try some science projects and experiments at home!
- Math -
- The unit we were working on during spring break was on exponents. Here are several practice links for evaluating exponents, the product of powers rule, and the power of powers rule.
- Khan Academy Units: how many points can you earn? Transformations unit, Linear Equations unit, and Solving equations with one variable are all excellent review units. The next three have some degree of new material for a challenge: Numbers and Operations, Linear Systems (includes a new solving method that you will use in Algebra1), and Intro to Radicals - square and cube roots (all new material)
- Check out the online practice sites and games for math on Mrs. Card's Pre-Algebra page
- Get a jumpstart on the language you’re studying next year. Or just learn something new. Here are a couple of foreign learning language sites with kid friendly games or lessons.
