I am so excited to be returning to Rogers Park and Airport Heights this year! We will be exploring a variety of topics related to art history, aesthetics and criticism, art careers, and studio processes according to the following curriculum themes:

4th- Art From Many Cultures
5th - Art as Communication
6th - Art's Impact on the World

 Students in grades 1st-6th earn effort-based grades in Art. 
Grades are based off of three main components:

    Be on the lookout for staff artwork at the Ed. Center (including a piece made by yours truly!). Pieces made by art teachers from around the district will be on display until September 22nd.

  • YAM Reception and Ed Center Art
    The ASD Youth Art Month reception is this Friday from 6-8pm at Anchorage Museum! Admission is free, so come check out the talent and hard work of students across the district!

    In addition, Rogers Park and Airport Heights student art is currently on display at the Ed Center. Nice job to all of our student artists!

  • Youth Art Month is coming up!

    Laying the Foundation” is the theme of the 45th Annual Anchorage School District student art exhibition at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, an acknowledgement of the visual arts programs in American schools. 


    The community is cordially invited to attend the Artists’ Reception, Friday, April 7, 2017 from 6-8pm; the reception is to honor artists from all exhibit locations. Superintendent Bishop, Mayor Berkowitz and Museum Director, Julie Decker will speak at 6:30.

    Admission to the reception is free.
