Welcome to our team Home Page!
Your kin is your family, so it's easy to see that kinship describes family bonds. Kinship can also describe a close family-like relationship, like the kinship of the teachers at your school who have worked together for many years and who all care deeply about students and learning. A close connection marked by community of interests or similarity in nature or character

NO HOMEWORK TICKETS/NHT
Assignments are given daily by one or more teachers. If a student did not do the work, they will fill out a No Homework Ticket that takes the place of the missing assignment. In the Zangle comment section of the assignment, it is listed as NHT for your reference.
Generally, late work is NOT accepted but this will depend on the teacher, the assignment, and the time frame.
FRIDAY WORK DAYS AND STUDENT GRADE CHECK
Most Fridays will be work days for students to check their grades, list any missing assignments, and if possible, make up work that will be accepted late. Students need to bring home the grade check sheet so you can see it, especially if you do not have Zangle access.
REMIND.com AND TEACHER LINKS/PAGES ON THE TEAM KINSHIP SECTION OF THE BEGICH MIDDLE SCHOOL HOME PAGE
Parents and students are encouraged to sign up for Remind.com which sends a text of the day’s assignments to your smart phone. Also, within the first few weeks of school, teacher pages/links will be set up so that you can go to the Begich Home Page, click on Team Kinship, and access each teacher’s information for their class which may include copies of reading material and assignments. Assignments for students are visible in every classroom and on the white board outside the classrooms in case students have not written them down in their planners. THIS IS AN INFORMATION ONLY TEXT. DO NOT REPLY TO TEXT. NO RESPONSE WILL BE RETURNED.
Team Kinship will be doing a fundraising activity which will help our team to possibly get team shirts, go on field trips, participate in team activities here at school and help provide food for our end of the year celebration. Parents may wish to opt out of the fund raiser and instead donate $20 toward our team fund. Information will be sent home soon about the fundraiser or team donation in lieu of fund raising.
IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION HOME
Team Kinship will send things home periodically (such as the fund raiser) that are important and need to be signed or returned immediately. For that reason, Team Kinship will be using green or lime green paper so it is easy to spot and will stand out. Please respond as soon as possible when you see communication of this color come home. Mastery tests will also be on green as well.
CELL PHONE / ENERGY DRINK POLICY
Cell phones are not allowed to be used between the hours of 8:13 and 2:45. Energy drinks will not be allowed at Begich this year. Cell phones and energy drinks will be confiscated if seen and returned at the end of the day.
STUDENT HANDBOOK AND PLANNERS
Students are provided with the Middle School Handbook and a Daily Planner. It is the student and parent responsibility to review the handbook. Students are to write in their planners daily for class requirements or responsibilities.
