School Theme and Stained Glass panel tradition

Every year, it is a tradition to select a school wide theme.  Our theme is used by the Begich Broadcast News team, as a basis for team names, as a focus for activities during the year, and for stationary, pins, stained glass panel, bulletin boards, and other ways that we recognize students and staff in school.   It has also been a tradition for Scott Kluever, Science teacher at Begich Middle School, who is also a stained glass artist, to take Memory Book designs and create a stained glass panel that captures the theme.   Anchorage School District carpenters design the wooden frames and install the piece each year. We typically have a ceremony in April to "unveil" the panel and celebrate our new stained glass panel with music and speeches.

Thus far, our themes have been as follows:

2007-2008 – You Make a World of Difference.
2008-2009 – Begich – The Heartbeat of Muldoon
2009-2010 – Dreams Begin Here
2010-2011 – Live. Learn. Dream.
2011-2012 – Climb Every Mountain
2012-2013 – Character takes courage
2013-2014 -- Believe it = Achieve it!
2014-2015 -- Relationships Matter
