KIRTI SONALKAR - ARTIST STATEMENT

Kuunjuu (pronounced Koonjoo): An abstract piece made with acrylic paint on canvas. The name comes from a nickname my dad had for me as a child. This work of art is born from the journey of my mind towards fulfillment of my dreams and desires. The path to completion forced me to 'Dig it'...my mind that is, to reach into its deepest recesses all the way to the subconscious. And rightly so it manifests itself on the canvas as an enlightened soul. A soul that is calm and at peace within.
