Cougars can Cook!

Over the course of the 2017-2018 school year, students cooked a variety of different dishes during Foundations for Healthy Living. From cookies and smoothies to Mac n' Cheese and Pumpkin Risotto, students honed their cooking skills and created made some amazing food! Here are all the recipes students made this year.

6th Grade -
Throughout the year, sixth grade students focused on kitchen safety and cooking basics. While they didn't cook as much as the 7th or 8th grade students, they loved trying new recipes and adding their personal touch to each dish.

8th Grade -
During their final year at CVS, eighth graders were given a little more choice in what they made. Themes included: Fall Foods, Breakfast, and One Skillet Meals. Often, the class would be divided into groups and each group cooked something different. The group came together at the end to eat family style.

Recipes from Student-led Conferences -
Instead of purchasing baked goods for the student led-conferences, students made a majority of what was offered! Over the course of 2 days, all seven classes worked hard mixing, baking, rolling out and plating A LOT of goodies.
