Thank you to Our PGO!

Thank you to our awesome PGO for making this author/illustrator visit possible for our students!  Just two years ago when I began as the librarian at Wildwood there was no money budgeted at the district level or within the WW PGO budget to support author visits.  Our current PGO has allocated money for this program and I sincerely thank the PGO for supporting these opportunities.  Meeting an author/illustrator allows a student to see possibilities for their future selves.  Studying a body of work by one writer/illustrator compels students to make a deeper connection to their work and understanding overarching themes in literature.  When we are able to host an author, like Jeff Mack, whose work spans from Kindergarten through upper elementary our community shares in an indelible experience together which strengthen our connections as a community.

Thank you to our WW community!  Please continue to support the

Hi Susan,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful email. I'm so glad to hear that you, your students, and the teachers all enjoyed my visit. I can't tell you how much hearing this means to me!

I want to say how much I enjoyed meeting and talking with all of your students. They were bright, creative, enthusiastic and very well-behaved. I couldn't have asked for a nicer bunch of kids to work with. You and your fellow teachers are clearly doing an amazing job with them!

I visit about 60 schools per year, and I have seen quite a variety at this point. Visiting Wildwood was truly one of my all-time favorites! I really think of these programs as team efforts. The audience's high level of engagement and preparedness adds so much to making it a positive experience.  So thank you for everything you did to get your students ready, to make me feel at home, and to make the whole day go so smoothly. I love seeing the photos and the video too! Great memories!

I hope we'll get another chance to work together in the future.

Please tell your students I said hi! I'll be thinking about them. (McGee will be too!)
