Library Makerspace Centers!

What do libraries and makerspaces have in common? Our students are learning that papercrafting, building with Legos, and bookmark making are all PART of the 700s in the Dewey Decimal system!  Students love exploring new materials and how they relate to the system that helps us organize the library (and all of human knowledge). As we are finishing up our NONFICTION exploration in grades K - 2 is fun to see students completing magnetic poetry (811), exploring language and idioms (400), building with Legos (720), and making bookmarks (740).  Our second graders have even completed the green screen DEWEY challenge in preparation for the DEWEY Throw Down (2nd graders will show 5th graders just how well they know the library and the Dewey Decimal System)!
