Mrs. Wells' Picks for 2016:
Beautiful Blue World by Suzanne LaFleur. 12-year-old Mathilde is recruited into the army. Sorfarende is at war in this dystopian thriller that keeps you turning the pages. Children have become the key to winning the war as the front lines inch closer to Mathilde's ever- changing and puzzling world of air-raids, food rations and difficult choices. This may be my pick for best book of the year but I haven't finished The Inquisitor's Tale by Adam Gidwitz yet. I loved it right up until the unsatisfying ending but I felt a little better when I learned that the sequel will be available in the fall of 2017.

The Inquisitor's Tale by Adam Gidwitz.
