Made with Padlet

We officially launched the MakerSpace today (9/21)! Students proposed makerspace projects and some even started creating games, activities and projects that relate to a book they just read. It was fun to see them problem-solve and create together. The community spirit around it was inspiring! I can't wait to see what our students create!

Ms Estes class will record the books they read and create the ultimate community of readers! Check back often to see what these amazing 5th grade students are reading!

Felix Yz by Lisa Bunker

Reviewer: Mrs. Wells

Genre: Science Fiction

What it’s about: When Felix was 3 years old when he was fused together with a 4th dimensional alien in an accident that killed his father. When we meet him he only has 30 days until a procedure that will separate him from the alien or it might kill him...

Why I liked it: I liked that Felix seemed like a typical kid who is bullied at school and sometimes doesn’t get along with his family. Although this book is science fiction, it reads like realistic fiction.

Who would like it: If you liked See You in the Cosmos by Jack Cheng you will like this audio diary format too.
