Sports 5-2-1

The Ottoson Middle School is participating in the

5-2-1 Jump Up and Go! program

5-2-1 Jump Up and Go! is a statewide program that was developed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to help children, their families, and communities become more physically active and develop lifelong healthy behaviors. Jump Up and Go! was started in 1998 as a response to the increase in childhood overweight and a decrease in physical activity. It promotes eating 5 fruits and vegetables a day, no more than 2 hours of screen time a day, and at least 1 hour of physical activity each day.

Within this program the Ottoson Middle school is offering several after school exercises and fun programs FREE OF CHARGE, with all equipment supplied.
There is no need to sign up for this, just show up!

Example of  activities that have been offered in the past are Badminton, Dodgeball, Dance Dance Revolution, Indoor Rollerblading, Wiffleball, fast pitch Softball skills, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee and more.

Activities are coordinated by Mr. Bartholomew (unless noted otherwise) who can be contacted for more information.
