Our Divemaster Internship Team are all experts, not only in PADI Divemaster, but also in complete range of PADI recreational dive courses. So if you are looking for an experience for your summer break, taking a Gap Year, looking for a complete change of career or even wanting to gain huge amounts of diving knowledge and improving your diving skills, the Divemaster Internship is for you.

The Divemaster Internship programme proudly supports environmental projects nationally as well as locally within Newcastle and we will assist you in learning all about the world underwater. You will gain knowledge and expertise to be able to assist diving schools around the world. Anyone who has an interest in diving, marine biology, aquatic conservation or starting a new career will feel at home on our internships.

Divemaster Internship Course Goals

  • To develop the knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for supervising certified divers in a variety of diving activities .
  • To develop knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for assisting training divers in PADI courses
  • To develop the knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for independently conducting specific PADI programmes for certified divers and non divers (Scuba review, Discover Snorkelling, PADI Skin diver course and Discover Scuba (with DSD leader rating)
  • To develop the candidates dive theory knowledge, water skills, rescue skills and experience to the levels necessary to enter the PADI Assistant Instructor course and the PADI Instructor Development course
  • To promote each candidates growth to meet individual needs and interests and to meet the dive community's needs and expectations in dive leaders
  • You need to be minimum 18 yrs of age and be able to swim 400 metres and float for 15 minutes both unaided. 





This course is completely free and you are expected to spend at least 3 working days per week at training centre where you learn the rules and responsibilities of being a divemaster.  You will receive briefings and debriefings at the end of each training day.

Prerequisites  

  • Certified PADI Rescue Diver – including first aid
  • Minimum 18 yrs of age and be able to swim 400 metres and float for 15 minutes both unaided. snorkel 800 metres and tow a diver for 100 metres, all within time limits
  • You can start with minimum 20 dives, and for completion your Divemaster with 60 dives

  • Divemaster application fee to PADI
  • Diver knowledge workbook
  • Air fills during any Open water training and site entry fees
  • Equipment hire- We recommend all candidates have their own equipment as familiarity with equipment will help you be more effective during your training. If required however, we hire equipment at a rate of £20 per day for open water and £10 for confined water for the duration of your Divemaster training. 
  • Divemaster Crew Pack (DM manual, slates, current instructor manual, DSD cue cards, Encyclopaedia of Recreational Diving, emblem decal, brochures, bag)




Here you will be qualified as a Dive Master and Master SCUBA diver with five specialties


Prerequisites

  •  Certified PADI Rescue Diver – including first aid
  • Minimum 18 yrs of age and be able to swim 400 metres and float for 15 minutes both unaided. snorkel 800 metres and tow a diver for 100 metres, all within time limits
  • Have a minimum of 20 dives to start, 60 dives for completion

  • Registration for all five specialities
  • Diver knowledge workbook
  • Air fills during any Open water training and site entry fees
  • Boat fees
  • Equipment hire- We recommend all candidates have their own equipment as familiarity with equipment will help you be more effective during your training. If required however, we hire equipment at a rate of £20 per day for open water and £10 for confined water for the duration of your Divemaster training.

No previous experience needed you can start from very beginning and work your way up to a Dive Master. You will be given all necessary instructions and training throughout the course by trained instructors. 

you will need to be at least 18 yrs of age and be able to swim for 400 m and float for 15 min unaided.

There is currently a 15% discount for the summer of 2015 on this option
