My name is Cathe McCaffrey. I was born in Atkinson, Nebraska, but moved to California when I was six months old and grew up in a suburb of LA. My heartstrings always belonged to Nebraska, however; as my parents brought me back to see our family every summer of my childhood. I attended Chadron State College, completing my Bacelor of Science in Education and my Masters of Science in Guidance and Counseling. This is my 34th year of teaching fifth grade in Alliance. I am married and have two children--a daughter who is 21 and a son who is 15 and in the 9th grade. I began my career at Grandview, right after student teaching in 5th grade. It was my great pleasure to teach with some of the greatest mentors that a new teacher could ever have--Mrs. Marion Grothen and Mr. John Miller. Then, when it was decided to close Central School, the fifth grade classrooms were moved to the middle school. We have gone through a lot of changes since that time. No matter what happens, however, my love and passion for fifth graders always remains the same! I adore them and take great pleasure and pride in watching them grow, learn, and develop during the school year. I look forward to a fabulous year! Please call anytime with questions or concerns.
