** Please note that the SMNHC property and its trails are not open to the public, except on special public days.  Parking on the APS grounds is not permitted (unless there for a scheduled program or official business), and land outside our gate is owned by Bernalillo County Water Authority, who also do not permit parking there (cars may be towed.)**

Note: If you look us up on Google maps, we may come up as located at the NM Museum of Natural History in Albuquerque, but this is NOT our physical address.

From Albuquerque:

Interstate 40 East through Tijeras Canyon.

Get off at Exit 175 for Cedar Crest/Tijeras.

Stay Left and follow signs toward Cedar Crest onto NM-14 North

Drive 3 miles north on NM-14.

Turn Left onto Columbine Lane.

(Columbine is a small road that can be hard to spot. If you reach Talking Talons Thrift Store or Triangle Grocery, you have gone a little too far.  On public days, watch for an SMNHC signboard.)

Follow Columbine Lane as it curves (arrow road signs will point the way) for approximately 1/2 mile.

Columbine Lane ends at the SMNHC.

Visitor parking is immediately to the left upon entering the grounds.

(If the gate is closed, we are not open.  Do not park in front of the gate.)
