Senior Portrait Information:

You may use your Lifetouch school picture as your senior portrait.  However, many students like to have a special picture taken for their senior year.  You can have a photographer or a family member take your picture.  Here are the guidelines:

 1. Please adhere to school dress code when picking out clothing for your picture.  No spaghetti straps or strapless tops. Also,  NO HATS are allowed in senior portraits or any school pictures.

2. Color portraits are preferred. The yearbook will be in color, so if you submit a black and white picture, we will use it, but it will be in the minority.

3. Head and shoulder portraits only. No full body shots.

4. Portraits must be vertical—if you are taking the picture, you must turn the camera. Horizontal shots will have to be cropped.

5. No props. The senior pictures are small. We want to be able to see the student and keep the portraits as consistent as possible.

**Note: Often students wish to take pictures with a prop that is reflective of their personal interests (baseball cap, sports equipment, musical instrument, pet, etc.) However, these types of photos are not appropriate for the senior portrait section. We encourage families to consider these photos for the Messages from Home section of the yearbook.

6. Plain or outdoor backgrounds. The less distracting the better.

7. Digital images must be a minimum of 1MB file size for optimal clarity and at a resolution of 300 dpi or greater.

NOTE:  You cannot take a picture on your phone and use it for your senior picture.  That file size is too small for yearbook publication.

8. All files must be RGB jpg  file or tif file.

9. Please submit a digital file of your portrait.  We will also accept an original copy of a senior portrait, and we will scan it.  However, a digital file is much clearer and crisper and looks much better in the yearbook.

10. Portraits deemed inappropriate by the yearbook staff and school administration will not be used, and you will be contacted for a replacement.
