Juniors: A reminder to sign up for the senior summit in your LA or History classrooms before the end of the year. This is a great opportunity to show your leadership and earn volunteer hours for scholarships.

Reminder to all sophomores wishing to run for Junior Class Office that applications are available from Mrs. Keating in Room 328A or in your LA 10 class. Applications are due by Thursday at 3:00pm. A teacher recommendation is needed, so please plan accordingly.

Juniors: Those of you who were not in LA classes yesterday should cast your vote for who will represent you as class officers in the coming year.

Juniors: It's a busy time of year but keep in mind the next ACT test is June 9th. Students can still register to take the June ACT test. The late registration deadline is Friday, May 18th and late fees do apply. Go to www.actstudent.org. There is also a July 14th ACT test date with a registration deadline of June 15th.

Juniors: If you would like to run for a Senior Class Officer position and serve your classmates next year, please pick up nomination materials from Mrs. Koester in Room 326 today. Forms must be completed and submitted by Tuesday, May 8th at 3:00pm to Mrs. Koester.

11th grade students will take the Math MCA on Tuesday morning before periods 1-3. Room assignments will be posted today by the lockers. Please check the lists and report directly to your testing location on Tuesday morning. All students should bring a calculator as well as a book to read. You may bring headphones to use for the test.

High School girls: Congressman Tom Emmer is launching the third annual Young Women Leadership Program for high school girls in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District. Applications can be found here: https://emmer.house.gov/young-women-leadership-program. The application will be available until May 18th. Please feel free to email at Abby.Rime@mail.house.gov or call with questions to 763-241-6848. This non-political/non-partisan program offers an opportunity for young women throughout the district to meet and interact with professional women in the great state of Minnesota who have built successful careers and hold or have held leadership roles in government, business, media, technology and other occupations. This program is free and is dedicated to inspiring young women. This is a great opportunity for high school girls to interact with professional women in various fields. We will be holding three separate events this summer, accepted applicants are expected to attend all three if possible: Monday, June 4th from 6pm-8pm, Monday, July 30th from 6pm-8pm and Monday, August 27th from 6pm-8pm.

Forms should be returned by Tuesday, May 8th by 3:00pm and paragraphs should be submitted electronically. Positions available are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Historian.

Attention Juniors - If you want to be excused to go home after the ACT test on Tuesday, April 24th (approximately 1:30pm) we need permission from home. Please have your parent or guardian write a note, call or email the school with permission for you to leave early for the day. If you do not have parent or guardian permission, you will not be able to leave early for the day.

9-12 graders: 2018 Minnesota Business Venture (MBV) - Experience college life by living on campus for a week, gain leadership experience to set yourself apart, explore potential college & career paths, network with professionals from top MN businesses, learn how to run your own business, learn about scholarship opportunities, have fun and meet new people. $150 if applications are received prior to April 15th or $200 after that date. (Financial assistance available to those who qualify). See Sabine in the Guidance Office for application and more information. Dates are July 8-13 (St. Cloud State University) or July 22-27 (St. John's University, Collegeville).

The Foley Ambassador committee is now accepting applications for the 2018 Foley Ambassador program. Applicants must be ages 16-20 by June 1st. If you are looking for a great opportunity to gain scholarship money, volunteer experience, self-esteem and confidence as well as new friends, then this program is for you! Information packets and applications are available in the Guidance Office and the deadline is Thursday, April 19th. There will be a short informational meeting on Tuesday, April 10th at 3:00pm int he Guidance Office where you can hear more information and ask any questions. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to represent the city of Foley as a Foley Ambassador!

Attention Juniors - The Foley American Legion and the St. Augusta American Legion Auxiliary are sponsoring junior girls and boys to attend Girl's State and Boy's State on June 10-16th. This is a great opportunity to better understand the inner workings of government and civics as well as gain valuable leadership skills. There will be over 300 of Minnesota's top juniors from all over the state participating. If you are interested, please see Mr. Kusler for more information by Friday, March 9th.

Juniors - If you did not turn in your green registration sheet yesterday signed by a parent or guardian, you must do so ASAP. Signed and completed forms should be turned into Sabine in the Guidance Office. If you have questions about registration come down to the Guidance Office during your Study Hall.

Juniors & Seniors - St. Cloud Technical and Community College will be hosting a Forecast Your Future event which will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 28. The day will highlight SCTCC's Culinary programs. The event will start with registration and welcome at 8:30am, with hands-on activities/demonstrations following from approximately 9-11:30am. The rotations will include Food Art, Cupcake Decorating, and Career Modeling. There will also be a presentation made by SCTCC Admissions staff. SCTCC culinary students are preparing an excellent pasta lunch and will serve from 11:30-noon. The afternoon will include a tour of an industry partner from approximately 12:30-2:00pm. If you are interested in attending this event, please see Sabine in the Guidance Office. Space is limited.
