ften I am asked: "How many years of Spanish should I take?" or "What do colleges require?" These are good, easy questions, but their answers are not always so.
THERE IS NO ONE-SIZE-FITS ALL AS TO WHAT COLLEGES REQUIRE! To find out the varying colleges requirements, please click on the "Resources" tab on the left and select CollegeRequirementsforWL.
Beyond that, I suggest that students work with their parents to ask themselves the following questions:
What do I like and dislike about Spanish?
Where does Spanish rank in my schedule: priority or not?
Are there ways I can use and reinforce my Spanish outside of class?
How will I use Spanish in my career and recreation?
What career area do I feel strongly attracted to? Would Spanish compliment careers in those fields?
The answers to these questions -along withe the College Requirements chart- should help you discern what you ought to do.
