Meet Madame Coen-Pesch

I love my job teaching at Normandale. I have the privilege of encouraging young students to grow in all their academic and social areas and to do this alongside a French teaching intern! This will be my sixth year teaching Grade One and I've also I taught Grade Four at Normandale. In between these two Normandale positions, I cared for my two growing children and volunteered at their schools. I provided leadership in launching the PTO and Teaching Intern program and assisted with reading instruction. Prior teaching positions found me at the Minneapolis Public Schools,  MN Waldorf School, and Concordia Language Villages. In addition, I've worked as Student Travel Coordinator and Children's Minister! I love teaching children to discover their ability to read, compute, create and problem solve.  My Masters Degree is from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul.

I am a strong advocate of immersion education, having helped launch a Spanish Immersion school near my home district. Both of my children are immersion students so I'm familiar with the journey immersion parents are on.  Hold on tight!  The rewards are amazing!

My intern this year is Maellia Durand.
