Art with Ms. Otremba

Welcome to the 2018-19 School year!

I am excited to be working with the incoming 6th graders!  Art for 6th grade is 1 semester, every day!  We have a lot to accomplish and I hope you will enjoy the intense program I have built for my students!  We will be working in  a multitude of mediums this year, to include:  painting, sculpture, bookmaking, clay, printmaking, papier mache, drawing, and much more.  I hope you enjoy and learn a lot about art, art history and current career paths in the visual arts!

If you have questions, please contact me via email at any time.  I welcome your contact.

Our art program at LMS is based on the MN Visual Art Standards.  A copy of the current stands is located in the file cabinet.  As well, I will post our Unit lessons etc on this website.

2018-19 Clay Club
8th Grade Only!
Limited to 25 Students
Watch for information in September!

Cost is $15 for the year

ART 6 is a studio art courses.  In other words, it is  is a "hands on" experience for all students.  The majority of  time will be spent working independently on various art projects.

ART 8 is a semester long and  will cover a little bit of everything.  We will be working in 2D and 3D forms of art.  We will cover drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay and various world crafts.    We will learn about art history connections, as well as current trends and contemporary art movements.  You will be creating original works. Grading art is based primarily on effort!  Effort is everything. Art is a learned skill, just like reading, math, etc.  However, creating art takes EFFORT!
