Minnesota Geography – We will study the physical geography of Minnesota using websites including google earth and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Dakota and Ojibwe – We will read and analyze a variety of texts and sources to learn about the indigenous people of Minnesota’s cultural past, relationships with settlers, and their continued presence in our state.

Timeline of Key Historical Events- We will create a timeline describing significant historical events comparing and contrasting perspectives of people throughout Minnesota history.

Present Day Minnesota–We will compare and contrast recent immigrants to Minnesota and how Minnesota has changed from the past to the present.

Minnesota State Government – We will explain the relationship between the three branches of state government. We will address/debate a state/local issue defending and justifying a position with evidence.
