About Brooklyn Middle STEAM Magnet School
The STEAM program at Brooklyn Middle has a focus on building a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics that will prepare students for success in the 21st century. Brooklyn Middle's STEAM program is part of the Northwest Suburban Integration School District and students in the eight school districts in the northwest metro area may choose to attend Brooklyn Middle STEAM Magnet..
The STEAM program at Brooklyn Middle School delivers all services required to provide students with a quality education and a consistent foundation in academics with challenging programs. Brooklyn Middle School’s STEAM program will support students as they (a) engage in a seamless inquiry-based learning experience dedicated to using STEAM to solve problems (b) set goals and work to obtain the skills, knowledge and experiences that will position them for future success, particularly in the STEAM disciplines (c) participate in authentic real-world experiences with practicing scientists, engineers and technical professionals (d) participate in challenging and accelerated opportunities to demonstrate content mastery.
The STEAM program at Brooklyn Middle School has received generous donations the past four years (starting as a STEM cohort) from Boston Scientific to help launch our STEAM initiative based on proposals submitted by Dana Trouth, the STEAM coordinator The grants obtained from Boston Scientific have help support speakers, webinars, student field trips, equipment and teacher training.
