Dear Parents,
    Welcome to another year of physical education at Birch Grove Elementary! We hope this new webpage will give you some insite on what your child will be doing in physical education class!  We will introduce your child to a variety of activities and opportunities which are designed to help your child acquire the skills needed to make positive choices about a healthy, active lifestyle.  Children are expected to participate in all physical education activities; if your child needs to be excused from activitiy, please send a note, e-mail, or call ahead of time.  We are looking forward to a FUN and EXCITING school year of learning and moving through our passion of the arts! 

A physically educated person:

1.       Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

2.       Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

3.       Participates regularly in physical activity.

4.       Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

5.       Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity setting.

6.       Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

**ONE QUICK FRIENDLY REMINDER ~ P.E. attire:  students need tennis shoes in order to participate fully in physical edcuation class. **
